Maryann Bell, LPC-S

Maryann Bell, LPC-S, is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. She brings over 20 years of clinical experience to her work, specializing in family and relationship issues, trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, addictive disorders, parenting support, and corporate team building.

Currently, Maryann focuses her expertise on supporting service members and their families as they navigate the unique and complex challenges of military life, PTSD, and deployment/reintegration. Her work reflects a deep understanding of the stressors military families face and a commitment to providing comprehensive, compassionate care.

Maryann is extensively trained in experiential therapies and evidence-based trauma treatments, including:

  • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) for trauma

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Level II

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma

She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Equine-Assisted Psychotherapist, utilizing creative and holistic approaches to healing.

Maryann’s contributions to the field include co-authoring the article "Redeployment and Reintegration: Military Family Issues," published in the March/April 2009 issue of Family Therapy Magazine. She also co-authored the book Treating the Wounded Warrior: The Comprehensive Family Systems Approach to Treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Leah Rudasill is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Abilene Christian University (1981) and a Master of Education in Counseling from Southwest Texas State University (1994).

With a passion for helping others heal and grow, Leah works collaboratively with her clients to develop a deeper understanding of how past trauma, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors may be impacting their present well-being. Her goal is to help clients gain clarity and move toward the peace, self-confidence, and success they seek. She believes that meaningful change is possible when clients are truly ready to engage in the work of healing and personal growth.

Leah works primarily with adults and specializes in areas including anxiety, depression, grief, stress, trauma, relationships, and Christian counseling. She is dedicated to creating a supportive and compassionate space where individuals can explore their challenges and find new paths toward wellness.

Arthur Murphy, LPC, LCDC

Arthur Murphy, LPC, LCDC, serves as the Lead Quality Clinical Coordinator (QCC) for the newly established Certified Training Institute (CTI) of Texas. As a central figure in the institute’s creation and integration, Arthur has been instrumental in shaping CTI’s mission to provide high-quality, competency-based training for emerging clinicians across Texas.

A former United States Marine, Arthur approaches his leadership with a focus on structure, accountability, and clinical excellence. He holds dual licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of CTI’s training programs. In his supervisory role, he ensures the professional development of interns and associates, maintaining the highest standards of ethical and evidence-based practice.

Arthur is highly trained in a broad range of modern therapeutic interventions, with specialized expertise in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). His clinical philosophy is rooted in the principles of trauma-informed care, military cultural competence, and person-centered therapeutic engagement. These values inform his work and serve as the foundation for the training he provides to future clinicians.

Throughout his career, Arthur has been dedicated to advancing the field through education and mentorship. He has trained the majority of clinicians currently working within his organization and remains committed to fostering clinical excellence, cultural sensitivity, and ethical practice in every aspect of his work with CTI.

Carol Kemp, LCSW

Carol Kemp is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 26 years of experience working with children, families, and individuals in a variety of settings. Her extensive background includes work in parenting and child development, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), and support for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and mood disorders. Carol is highly skilled in utilizing TF-CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and is certified in Solution-Focused Therapy, Mediation, and working with adolescents involved in the juvenile justice system.

Carol’s passion for working with children and families is rooted in her belief that they are on one of life’s most fascinating and important journeys. Having grown up in a military family and worked within military communities, she has traveled extensively and developed a deep respect for serving individuals who face unique life challenges, including those shaped by trauma. Carol understands that the journey of healing can be difficult, but also recognizes the strength in those who seek to rise above these experiences.

Her areas of focus include trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, PTSD, mood disorders, bipolar disorder, behavioral issues in children, parenting support, and LGBTQ+ issues. Carol’s therapeutic approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to the individual’s needs. She considers it an honor to walk alongside her clients as they navigate their personal path toward healing, growth, and resilience.

Martin McClenon M.S., LPC, LCDC, NCC, SAP

Martin McClenon is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in the state of Texas. A proud Navy veteran, Martin was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and earned his Master’s Degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce. His extensive military background, which involved working with diverse groups of people, inspired him to pursue a meaningful career in counseling.

As a mental health professional, Martin is passionate about helping individuals and families recognize their own strength and take control of their personal journey. He believes that understanding one’s inherent value and purpose is foundational to healing and growth. His work emphasizes empowerment, ownership, and the importance of living with intention.

With over five years of experience in the wellness community, Martin brings a holistic and comprehensive perspective to his practice. His diverse clinical background allows him to draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities to best meet the unique needs of each client. Mandy Reyna, LPC

Mandy Reyna is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensed in the state of Texas. She brings a unique perspective to her work as a mental health professional, drawing from both her clinical expertise and her lived experience as a retired U.S. Army veteran. Mandy served as an Apache mechanic and Crew Chief with multiple deployments before retiring from the military in 2015.

Following her military career, Mandy pursued her passion for helping others by earning a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2022. She completed her clinical internship at the Olin E. Teague Veterans Center in Temple, Texas, where she worked in both the Mental Health Clinic and the Mental Health Intensive Case Management (MHICM) Department. In addition to her work with veterans, Mandy provided counseling services at a community clinic and a local homeless shelter from 2021 to 2022.

Mandy has experience working with a wide range of mental health concerns, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, sexual trauma, childhood trauma, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. She is dedicated to providing trauma-informed, compassionate care to help clients heal, grow, and improve their overall well-being.

Mandy’s combined military background and clinical experience allow her to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds, particularly veterans, with authenticity and understanding.

April Cobb, LPC

April Cobb is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. She is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). April brings a wealth of experience to her practice, having provided counseling in a variety of settings, including private practice, substance use rehabilitation, hospice care, and faith-based counseling.

April specializes in working with individuals who are navigating anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, agoraphobia, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In addition, she offers support for individuals facing grief, trauma, depression, stress management challenges, self-esteem issues, goal setting difficulties, and those seeking to cultivate mindfulness practices. April provides expert counseling services to both teens and adults.

Outside of her clinical work, April is passionate about serving her community. She dedicates time to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, cooking for the elderly, and cherishing time spent with her family, which includes her three daughters and one granddaughter.

Cathy Bustos, LPC

Cathy graduated from American Military University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Walden University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate through the State of Texas and under the supervision of Maryann Bell, LPC-S. Cathy is recognized as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors. Cathy has received Provider Status through Strong Star and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing through EMDRIA.

Cathy Bustos is also a retired police lieutenant from Central Texas. She graduated from The Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute Leadership Command College. As one half of “That Peer Support Couple, LLC,” she is a strong veteran and first responder peer support and a mental health advocate. She also appeared in the documentary "Officer Involved".

Cathy is an International Critical Incident Stress Foundation-approved and certified Group Crisis and Assisting Individuals in Crisis Instructor. She's also a certified trainer on the topic of Law Enforcement Suicide. Cathy returns every year to provide support services for National Police Week. She also travels the nation as support services for Concerns of Police Survivor's Traumas of Law Enforcement Training.

Cathy is married with two adult children. She considers her children's spouses as her own kids. She has two wonderful granddaughters. Cathy is proud to be a part of the Angels on The Horizon Therapeutic Center Team.

Mary Smith, LPC

Mary Smith is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who graduated from Tarleton State University in 2022 with a Master’s in Social Work: Direct Practice. Throughout her academic journey, she balanced her education with raising three children, who continue to keep her busy outside of work. In her free time, she enjoys reading and playing co-ed basketball, activities that reflect her dedication to maintaining both mental and physical well-being.

Over the past several years, Mary has focused her career on working with veterans, first responders, and adolescents, providing compassionate, evidence-based care to those navigating the lasting impacts of trauma. She completed her internship at the Warriors Research Institute, where she received specialized training in Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the Unified Protocol, which integrates effective components from PE, CPT, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Mary’s passion for supporting veterans comes from personal experience, as every male in her direct family has served in the military. Witnessing their struggles inspired her to pursue a career focused on helping others overcome similar challenges.

She specializes in helping individuals work through anger, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other barriers that impact quality of life. Mary approaches therapy as a collaborative process between individuals, offering guidance to help clients recognize their next best step forward.

Clients often describe her sessions as conversational, compassionate, and grounded in trust, much like speaking with a trusted friend who prioritizes their well-being. Mary offers flexible scheduling, with availability on weekends and after typical work hours, and remains available via text throughout the day for urgent needs or emergency sessions.

Jennifer Czuhajewski, LMSW

Jennifer Czuhajewski (Pronounced: Chai-es-ki) is a Master of Social Work (MSW) at Angels on the Horizon, specializing in clinical social work to support individuals across a wide range of mental health needs. Jennifer brings a compassionate, person-centered approach to her work, informed by her diverse professional and personal experiences.

Jennifer is married and a proud mother of two—a twenty-five-year-old son and a sixteen-year-old daughter—as well as a grandmother to a three-year-old grandson. She and her family reside on a ten-acre ranch in Kempner, Texas, where they care for goats and donkeys, embracing a lifestyle that reflects her love for animals and the outdoors.

Jennifer’s professional journey began in education, where she spent ten years as a teacher working with children of all ages. Through her teaching career, she developed valuable skills in child development, developmental delays, ADD/ADHD, and childhood psychology—all of which now inform her work as a clinician. In 2017, feeling called to make a deeper impact, she transitioned from teaching to the field of social work.

Following her time in education, Jennifer worked for Child Protective Services (CPS), conducting kinship studies for placement. This role deepened her understanding of childhood trauma and the critical importance of accessible mental healthcare. It also solidified her desire to pursue advanced education and training to become a clinical social worker, allowing her to provide direct therapeutic services to individuals and groups.

Currently, Jennifer is in the process of completing her certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to better assist clients in healing from trauma and improving their mental health.

Kathryne Stam, LMSW

Katherine Stam is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California, where she specialized in Veteran Affairs. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Minor in Military Resilience from Liberty University. Prior to her work in the mental health field, Katherine proudly served 8 years in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer. In 2010, she deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, serving on a Female Engagement Team, Quick Reaction Force, and Personal Security Detail.

Katherine brings over 20 years of experience in the Equine and Agriculture Industry and more than 8 years working within the non-profit sector of equine-assisted growth, primarily serving veterans, active-duty military, and their families. Her work focuses on helping individuals overcome hardships and navigate the adverse mental health challenges often associated with military service. Even prior to her military career, Katherine volunteered in the equine-assisted growth community, working with children diagnosed with Autism, developmental disorders, and physical impairments. Her passion lies in leveraging equine-assisted psychotherapy to help individuals process and heal from trauma.

Katherine recently transitioned into the clinical mental health sector and is committed to specializing in the treatment of PTSD and trauma-related conditions throughout her career. Her work with trauma survivors extends beyond military populations, embracing individuals from all walks of life.

She holds a strong belief in the neurobiology of the mind-body connection and, in 2017, became a certified yoga instructor to deepen her understanding of holistic healing practices. Katherine is also a strong advocate for Mindfulness and Somatic Experiencing techniques, which she actively incorporates into her work with clients.

Her professional goals include obtaining her Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential and earning certifications in both Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). In the immediate future, Katherine looks forward to leading small group therapies through Angels on the Horizon’s internship clinic and collaborating with clinicians as the Equine Specialist to provide Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy.

Kevin Grannes, LMSW

Kevin Grannes is a Licensed Master Social Worker and dedicated therapist specializing in trauma-informed care and evidence-based mental health practices. He holds a Master’s in Social Work, a graduate certificate in trauma, and certification as a trauma professional. Additionally, Kevin earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Organizational Behavior and a Master’s in Business Administration. Currently working toward his Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification, Kevin is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Inspired by a strong family tradition of military service, Kevin served over eight years as a Forward Observer (FO) in the U.S. Army, advancing to the role of Brigade Targeting Non-Commissioned Officer and deploying multiple times in support of the Global War on Terror.

Following his military service, Kevin transitioned to a career in corrections, working as a corrections officer, residential treatment officer, and parole officer. His work with veteran mental health programs sparked a deeper passion for behavioral health, leading him to dedicate his career to supporting the military and veteran community. His unique blend of military, correctional, and clinical experience enables him to provide effective, empathetic care to individuals from all walks of life, guiding them toward meaningful growth and well-being.

Bree is passionate about working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and is committed to providing a safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore concerns related to anxiety, trauma, relationships, depression, and other life challenges. Bree specializes in family therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and she works with a wide range of populations, including young adults, adults, couples, and families.

Bree holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at Tyler and is currently under the supervision of Dr. Stacia Alexander, Ph.D., LPC-S. Her professional experience spans a variety of clinical settings, including community mental health centers, state hospitals, and private practice.

As a trauma-informed counselor trained in CBT, Bree integrates evidence-based interventions while tailoring her approach to the unique needs of each client. She values a collaborative therapeutic relationship and believes that healing is a journey best traveled together. Bree plans to further her expertise by pursuing training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Robert Czarnecki, LMSW

Robert (Bobby) Czarnecki is a Licensed Master Social Worker with a passion for helping individuals overcome life’s challenges through trauma-informed, compassionate care. He holds both a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Texas A&M University–Central Texas and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington, with a concentration in Mental Health and Substance Abuse. Bobby’s clinical experience includes working with individuals facing trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and anger management issues.

A combat veteran and former Infantryman in the United States Army, Bobby served over six years, including two deployments to Afghanistan with the renowned 82nd Airborne Division. Following his military service, he transitioned into law enforcement before ultimately pursuing his long-standing passion for social work. His personal and professional journey has been driven by a deep desire to serve others, particularly fellow veterans.

After completing his academic training, Bobby gained valuable experience working as a case manager and later as an inpatient therapist, roles that allowed him to develop a well-rounded clinical skill set. His current work focuses on supporting the veteran community, fulfilling the commitment he made when he first began his career in social work.

Bobby’s unique blend of military, law enforcement, and clinical experience informs his empathetic and practical approach to care. He is dedicated to helping clients build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and achieve meaningful progress on their path to healing and well-being.

Riley Collier is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate in the state of Texas, practicing under the supervision of Matthew Litaker, LPC-S. Ramona Smith is a Licensed Master Social Worker-Associate (LMSW-Associate) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in the state of Texas. Originally from Germany, Ramona worked as a medical assistant prior to moving to the United States. Inspired by her experiences as the spouse of a retired Army veteran of 22 years, Ramona chose to pursue a career in mental health. Her lived experience navigating the unique challenges faced by veterans and military families—including cultural adjustments, relocation stress, and the complexities of military life—fuels her passion for supporting these communities.

Ramona’s clinical interests center on working with veterans, their families, immigrants, the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Her professional experience includes working in acute psychiatric care, supporting clients with suicidal ideation, survivors of domestic violence, and individuals facing a wide range of mental health concerns. As an LCDC, she is specialized in supporting individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.

Ramona’s approach is grounded in compassion, cultural awareness, and trauma-informed care. She is dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate challenges, build resilience, and achieve lasting well-being.

His dedication to mental health stems from both his personal and professional experiences, fueling his passion for helping others heal from trauma and build fulfilling lives.

Daniel also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Business Management and Psychology. He specializes in working with individuals experiencing PTSD, trauma-related disorders, anxiety, depression, and stress. His clinical approach integrates evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) for PTSD.

Daniel brings a unique perspective to his counseling practice through his military background and personal experiences with the challenges service members and their families often face. He is deeply committed to helping veterans, first responders, and civilians alike navigate the path toward healing and resilience.

Outside of his professional life, Daniel has been married for 17 years and is the proud father of two children. His daughter attends Texas State University, and his son is currently in high school.

Daniel’s approach to therapy is grounded in respect, empathy, and a deep understanding of the complexities of trauma and personal growth. His mission is to empower clients to reclaim their well-being and take meaningful steps toward lasting change.
