In-School Practicum Program
At Angels on the Horizon Therapeutic Center, LLC, we are proud to offer a comprehensive and structured In-School Practicum and Internship Program for graduate students pursuing degrees in counseling, social work, and related behavioral health fields. Our program is designed to provide students with the clinical experience and professional development required for graduation while fostering growth in a supportive, trauma-informed environment.
Program Overview:
Our practicum program not only fulfills academic field placement requirements but also offers rotations through multiple specialized departments. This allows students to gain diverse and well-rounded clinical experience, preparing them to complete both Practicum and Internship I & II at the same location without the need for multiple placements.
Clinical Rotations Include:
Veteran Services: Focused on the unique mental health needs of military service members, veterans, and their families.
Family Counseling: Addressing family systems, parenting, and relational dynamics.
Couples Therapy: Supporting healthy communication, conflict resolution, and relationship repair.
Individual Counseling: Providing one-on-one services for a range of mental health concerns.
Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy: Integrating therapeutic work with horses to promote healing, growth, and resilience.
Substance Abuse Treatment: Offering evidence-based interventions for individuals struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders.
What Practicum Students Can Expect:
Hands-On Clinical Experience across multiple populations and therapeutic settings.
Supervision & Mentorship from licensed clinicians (LPC, LCSW, LCDC) with expertise in trauma, addiction, and co-occurring disorders.
Evidence-Based Training in modalities such as CBT, SFBT, DBT, EMDR, and trauma-informed practices.
Professional Skill Development in areas such as treatment planning, documentation, case conceptualization, and ethics.
Collaborative Learning Environment emphasizing growth, professional standards, and ethical care.
