Bette Drake, Co-Founder, CEO

Bette Drake is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Angels on the Horizon, where she brings more than three decades of experience in business ownership and accounting to her leadership role. A lifelong entrepreneur, Bette has successfully owned and operated multiple businesses throughout her career, earning a reputation for her integrity, dedication, and commitment to service.

For over 50 years, Bette has shared both friendship and partnership with Mary Ann Bell, her best friend and “partner in crime.” Together, they founded Angels on the Horizon nearly a decade ago with a shared vision of creating a safe, compassionate space to serve individuals, families, and especially the veteran community—a cause deeply personal to Bette as the proud spouse of a military veteran.

Bette’s leadership reflects her values of loyalty, resilience, and compassion. Her business acumen, paired with her commitment to fostering a supportive environment for both clients and clinicians, continues to shape the mission and growth of Angels on the Horizon. Under her guidance, the organization remains steadfast in its mission to honor and serve those who have served.

Julianne (Tanya) Donnermeyer, Front Office

Julianne Donnermeyer is a dedicated mother to two autistic boys and a passionate advocate for children, families, and individuals navigating the complexities of mental health and developmental needs. Her personal journey as a parent has shaped her compassionate and empathetic approach to her work, allowing her to connect with clients on a deeply human level.

With over a decade of professional experience working with children, Julianne brings both personal and practical insight to her role as the front office receptionist at Angels on the Horizon. She plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment from the moment clients walk through the door or pick up the phone. As part of the front office team, Julianne is often one of the first voices clients hear when reaching out for help, and she takes great pride in making those interactions feel safe, affirming, and free of judgment.

Julianne’s commitment to service extends beyond her professional duties. She is currently pursuing her degree in Social Work at Walden University, building upon her educational foundation in Early Childhood Education from Central Texas College. Her long-term goal is to expand her impact by working directly with children, families, and adults to help them achieve stability, connection, and resilience through compassionate, informed care.

Through her daily work and ongoing education, Julianne exemplifies the values of patience, kindness, and advocacy. Her lived experience gives her a unique perspective on the challenges families face, and she is committed to creating inclusive spaces where all individuals feel valued and supported. Her contributions help ensure that Angels on the Horizon remains a place where clients are met with understanding, dignity, and hope from their very first interaction.
